The Amplicomms PowerTel 46 Amplified Big Button Telephone has been designed with these difficulties in mind, offering a corded telephone with adjustable volume and larger buttons for easier operation.
The PowerTel 46 is an ideal telephone for anybody suffering with hearing difficulties, as it features various volume-adjustable settings. The receiver volume can be increased up to 35dB, improving the quality of telephone conversations by ensuring that the person on the other end can be clearly heard. This will be particularly important if sensitive information or medical advice is being delivered, as it minimises the risk of the information being misheard.
The ringer volume can also be adjusted up to 90dB. This is beneficial for anybody who has difficulty hearing the phone when it rings. The tone control can also be altered, with the ability to set the frequency either higher or lower depending on individual requirements.
The larger size of the buttons on the PowerTel 46 is ideal for those with visual impairments. The big button design means that the numbers will be easier to read, reducing the risk of telephone numbers being incorrectly dialled. This larger size is also suitable for anybody with reduced dexterity as they are easier to manage than smaller, traditional dialling buttons.
The telephone is fitted with an LED light, which flashes when there is an incoming call. This light provides a bright visual alert to indicate that the phone is ringing, offering an additional aid for telephone use.
In addition to the visual and audial benefits, the PowerTel 46 is also a practical solution for anybody suffering from memory loss. It features a last number redial button, which reduces the need for the same numbers to be repeatedly entered in succession.
The user also has the ability to programme three speed-dial numbers of their choosing. The buttons are colour-coded for assisting with recalling functions, with a red SOS button being ideal for emergency services. The two green buttons, labelled M1 and M2, provide practical options for programming frequently dialled numbers such as family members or carers.
You can store up to 10 phone numbers so that they can be dialled with the press of a button. The three buttons, SOS, M1 and M2, are one-touch dialling buttons for three telephone numbers. Use the SOS button for storing a telephone number you want to call in case of an emergency.
The PowerTel 46 doesn’t require a power cord. All you need to do to set it up is to connect the base and the handset with the included handset cable, and plug the telephone cable into the telephone socket.
The PowerTel 46 Amplified Big Button Telephone features a very discreet design that looks not much different than a standard office telephone. It can be wall mounted, but looks just as at home on virtually any desk.
